MANILA, Philippines – The 2024 Bar examinations chaired by Associate Justice Mario Lopez gave birth to 3,962 new lawyers.
Among the best of the best in the batch is Gerald Roxas, a certified public accountant and a law graduate from the Angeles University Foundation, who ranked 3rd in this year’s Bar.
His story is nothing short of inspiring as he was a survivor of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) that wreaked havoc in the Visayas in 2013.
Roxas had to move to Manila to look for kindhearted people who will help him achieve his dreams to become an accountant. Fortunately, the University of the Philippines’ alumni association took him under its care and helped him finish his accounting degree.
From being a humble scholar from Tacloban City, Roxas is now a Bar topnotcher.
