The most wonderful time of the year is here again! Suddenly, everything has become merry and bright. And soon, the streets will be filled with children singing Christmas tunes, while the smell of puto-bumbong and bibingka wafts in the air.
This year, Coca-Cola has kicked off the giving season on Sept 1 through the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour, bringing smiles with bottles of Coke.
The iconic Coke Christmas truck has so far made it to BGC, Cavite, Bacolod, and McDonald’s Q. Ave Ligaya.
A spectacular drone show at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna also filled the skies with enchanting lights and music!

Kindness in small ways
Some people have jumped into the positivity train and have felt the #PaskongCocaCola spirit through small, everyday encounters. Mom-fluencer Margaux Hemady-Ranosa, who is known online as WanderWoMom, posted to Facebook an anecdote about a precious moment during her son’s first football match.
In a tournament where the players are focused on winning, Hemady-Ranosa’s son chose to show compassion when he bumped into his opponent.
Joanna Louise Guilalas’ kindness story meanwhile reminded us that it’s possible to find the softest of hearts right next door and that there will always be someone willing to lend a hand during trying times.
The Santas the world need
Some of our followers on social media have also become ambassadors for kindness this season in their own little ways. In the comments section of a crowdsourcing post on Rappler’s Facebook page, it was proven that kind-heartedness is indeed contagious.
Facebook user Maricris Deleon commented about how giving any extra amount to taxi, jeepney, and tricycle drivers make an impact on their daily income. “A little goes a long way, in unexpected ways. They light up when you do this,” she said.
Users Ron Ciprez and Ward Brainard meanwhile shared that they’ve been spreading happiness by dressing up and acting as Santa on Christmas events.
For user Lyndon Jonson , he said he will share what he can to his church’s community and charity. He’s also planning to hand around bottles of Coca-Cola around his village.
As many gave answers about giving and sharing what they can to the underprivileged, Facebook user Maria Loreto Akiat reminded us to remain kind and generous in our own simple way even if it’s not Christmas.
Ready to paint the town in happiness? Just like them, you too can be the Santa everyone needs this season.
Christmas is, of course, about spending time and making wonderful memories with family and friends over sumptuous feasts and a bottle of ice-cold Coca-Cola. But it is also about remembering the true spirit of the holiday season, which is all about kindness and giving. Catch up with a friend you haven’t talked to in a while, give a compliment, or share an umbrella with someone caught in the rain! There are numerous ways to pass on and spread the magic of kindness this Christmas, and a little deed can go a long way. – Rappler.com
