MANILA, Philippines – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, formerly known as the Mormon Church, lit up its Manila Philippines Temple along White Plains, Quezon City, as the Philippines celebrates the Christmas season.

An annual tradition since 1986, the Manila Temple Lighting was held at around 9 pm on Friday, November 29, at the temple grounds. It was preceded by a formal dinner at 7 pm, punctuated by musical performances and speeches at the church’s Philippine Missionary Training Center across the White Plains temple.

The guests of honor included Senator Imee Marcos, who is the sister of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and Roman Catholic priest Father Carlos Reyes, minister for ecumenical and interfaith affairs of the Archdiocese of Manila.

Here are photos of the Manila Temple Lighting, taken by Rappler’s Angie de Silva.
